Radiation doses to patients and information capacity of image during eye examinations using X-ray computer tomograph

Description

Determinations of radiation doses to eye as well as assessment of information capacity of tomographs are made using QUAD-1 (USA) X-ray computer tomograph of the fourth generation. Reducing the scanning time and the X-ray tube anode current to 80-100 mA found to be the main way of minimization of the radiation dose without deterioration of the tomogram image quality. The optimum tube-voltage is 140 kW. Narrowing the colimator slit and reducing the number of sections can also reduce the total radiation dose, but these measure are less universal for they are determined by clinical situation
