Wolsong 1 ROPT simulation uncertainties and errors verification: flux shape errors

Description

Perturbation tests were performed to verify if new in-core flux detectors installed in Wolsong 1 respond well as expected in design analysis and to give new evaluation data for the simulation uncertainties of Regional Overpower Protecting Trip Setpoints. With data obtained from the tests, limiting channels and protecting detectors were calculated and finally 4 flux shape errors were evaluated. The main purpose of this evaluation is to verify inversely if how the data from designer correspond with actual Wolsong 1 core through the comparison with flux shape errors given by designer and data from actual Wolsong 1 core, and ultimately to verify reactor safety and the reliability of design data. This new evaluation showed that designed simulation values used in ROPT setpoints re-design can be trusted and correspond with actual detectors' response
