Description
The applicability is discussed of Moessbauer spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction in determining the deviation of magnetite from stoichiometry. The results show that in addition to data obtainable by both methods, the ratio of intensities of two partial spectra composing the Moessbauer spectrum of magnetite permits quantitative analysis of the deviation of magnetite from stoichiometry.
