Quantitative assessment of efficacy of radiotherapy of malignant tumors

Scanning densitometry, a perspective method for aposterior processing of roentgenogramm, was developed for quantitative assessment of the efficacy of radiotherapy of malignant tumors. The method is realized through x-ray tomography followed by tomogram processing using a scanning densitometer or through computer-aided tomography followed by computer processing using a special program. This method for assessment of radiotherapy efficacy was used in cases with pulmonary and laryngeal cancer and with changes in pulmonary ventilation developing in the course of therapy.
