An adiabatic resonance spin-flipper for thermal and cold neutrons
- 1. B.P. Konstantinov Inst. of Nuclear Physics, Academy of Sciences, Gatchina (Russian Federation)
Description
A device to reverse the polarization of a wide velocity spectrum neutron beam is described. The method does not require the switching of static magnetic field or presence of a matter in the neutron beam. The neutron beam need not to be strongly collimated. The probability of spin flip is close to 1. The schematic of a simple radio frequency current generator for the flipper solenoid is presented. (orig.)
