Influence of copper and tantalum coatings on deformation mode of polycrystalline tungsten filaments

Description

The effect of vacuum-deposited tantalum and electrochemical copper coatings of deformation mode of thin polycrystalline tungsten filaments is studied. It is shown that behaviour of filament-like tungsten crystals with deposits essentially depends on hardness of the coating, i.e. ratios of elasticity modules of contacting phases. At ''hard'' tantalum coating the internal friction sharply grows before fracture
