Efficient use of a low-pressure arc in a grid plasma electron emitter

Description
In this letter we report experiments on the production of an electron beam with a large cross-sectional area in a diode with a grid plasma emitter. This arrangement combines the advantages of the two methods for producing the emitting plasma, since the volume plasma is formed in an anode cavity, and the original plasma is produced by an arc source in the cavity
