On the differential rotation of solar background magnetic fields. 3
Description
It is proved that describing the time variations of the differential rotation of solar background magnetic fields in terms of the development of Gegenbauer's polynomials allows the components which can be interpreted as low modes of stationary torsional waves with wave numbers 0, 1/2 and 1 on a hemisphere, to be segregated from the velocity field of differential rotation.
