Arsine oxides in processes of liquid extraction of uranium and transuranium elements from nitric acid solutions
Description
Arsenic R-radical structure effect on the complexing ability of R3ASO arsine oxides in donor-acceptor type processes is studied by ''electron noise'' method. The extragents studied are arranged in line in the order of their extraction ability increase: Ph3ASO<Ph2AS(O)Alk3, ASO, where extragent nucleophilic nature rises with the R=Alk radical length increase and at transformation from aliphatic to alicyclic derivatives as well. The reaction line obtained is studied during hydration in organic solvents at extraction of nitric acid, uranium(6), plutonium(3,4,6) and neptunium (4,5,6) from nitric acid solutions. Extraction mechanism of the above transuranium elements (M) was investigated by radiometric method. Uranium(6), plutonium(4,6) and neptunium(4,6) are established to form extractive complexes of the MO2(NO3)2x2R3ASO composition. Element extraction effective constants which change antibately to electron-donor ability are determined. This phenomenon can be explained by competing nitric acid coextraction which rises with its concentration increase and extractant nucleophilic nature growth
