High-spin levels in the odd-odd nucleus 142Eu

Description
High-spin states up to I=22 ℎ have been observed for the first time in the odd-odd nucleus 142Eu above the 8- β+-decaying isomer. A new isomer of mean life τm=9.0±0.6 ns and Jπ=8+ has been identified. The low energy part of the level scheme is interpreted in terms of single-particle excitations in the 2d5/2 and h11/2 orbitals and of the N=80 core excitations. (orig.)
