Reactor building integrity test at Gentilly 2
Description
This paper describes the reactor building integrity test at Gentilly 2 reactor facility. Since commissioning, the containment integrity has to be demonstrated to the safety authority every three years for the major components: the reactor building, the air locks, and the containment valves. The method used is a pressure test at 124 kPad. This activity requires 7 days and it costs $350, 000. From 1987 to 1989, Hydro-Quebec has invested resources to develop this test referred to as the TCM method. This method was implemented between 1990 and 1991 and is now applied every three years
