This paper discusses some aspects of scalar fields that arise as a result of dimensional reduction in a Kaluza-Klein context. In particular, the authors derive a complete series of the gauged CPN-1 sigma models as a result of the n-Killing reduction of Einstein- Cartan theory of gravity in (4 + n)-dimensions for a certain class of the internal metric
