Study on gas-liquid exchange reactor for hydrogen isotopes separation

Description

The studies on the gas-liquid exchange reactors for hydrogen isotope separation have been made. This report is described on the longitudinal mixing characteristics in a gas-liquid spouting vessel measured by using thermal diffusion phenomena. The mixing diffusion coefficient in an aerated tower with a single hole nozzle was also measured and compared with that in the gas-liquid spouting vessel. The turbulent theory was applied for the analysis of the experimental results. As the results of measurements, remarkable difference was observed between the temperature profiles in the spouting vessel and in the aerated tower. The difference between the profiles of longitudinal diffusion coefficient was also large. In the turbulent spouting section of the spouting vessel, the diffusion coefficient was several times as large as that in the aerated tower. However, the coefficient in the calm uniform section of the vessel was a few percent of that in the aerated tower. A simple function between the diffusion coefficient and the vessel diameter was obtained. The correlation functions for the heat transfer coefficient were deduced. (Kato, T.)
