On the software of landslide real-time automated monitoring system

Description

The article outlines structure and main functionalities of software for realtime landslide monitoring and online data processing and use. A brief description of landslide monitoring sensors and the principle of data transfer is also presented. The sensors installed at landslide area allows obtaining systematic measurements on the earth surface and the groundwater level up to 30m depth. The system transfers data logged by sensors (surface and vertical extensometer, strain gauge, water gauge and rain gauge) installed at landslide sites in Arapi, Getahovit and Voghjaberd to observation stations (located in respective communities) and subsequently to central monitoring station at MES. The software consists of functional modules providing (1) connection of observation stations to central monitoring station, (2) background service for transfer of data from Observation station to Monitoring stations, (3) a service for validating data transfer and its input into database at monitoring station, (4) a web application designed for managing the landslide monitoring software through a single web portal. The web application allows adding and removing users to the system, setting of alert levels for each measurement equipment, sending alarms via email and sms messages to system users, viewing collected data from each sensor in table and graph format. The implemented system fully complies with 'Big Data' concept. Its basic principles and software modules can also be used to organize automated monitoring of other natural processes and systems
