Induced Mandelstam-Brillouin scattering in a laser plasma at oblique incidence of a pumping wave

Description

The process of induced Mandelstam-Brillouin scattering at oblique incidence of a pumping wave on a moving inhomogeneous plasma is studied. In the geometrical optics approximation the explicit expression for the convective amplification coefficient and for the scattering radiation spectrum is obtained. The dependencies of the scattering spectrum on the incidence angles of the pumping wave and on the plasma spread velocity are analytically and numerically studied. In case of backscattering and forward scattering the spread velocity increase leads to spectrum widening and its intensity decrease. The incidence angle increase leads to the scattering intensity decrease, spectrum widening and total Einstein shift
