Radiochemical investigation of the processes which determine the ionic sensitivity of cadmium-selective electrodes based on chalcogenide glasses. I. Exchange of cadmium ions

Description

The exchange of cadmium ions between solutions and a cadmium-containing chalcogenide glass of the cadmium iodide-silver sulfide-arsenic sulfide system, which is used as a membrane in ion-selective electrodes, was studied by means of the radioactive 115mCd isotope. It was shown that the exchange of cadmium ions obeys identical relationships both in the case of the labeled glass and in the case of the solution containing radioactive cadmium nitrate. The exchange of cadmium ions is proportional to the concentration of cadmium nitrate in the solution
