Topological cross sections for the 3Hep interaction and elastic 3Hep scattering at 5 GeV/c

Description

The 80-cm diameter liquid hydrogen bubble chamber at ITEP has been used to determine the topological cross sections for the 3Hep interaction and differential cross sections dsigma/dt for elastic 3Hep scattering at a momentum 5 GeV/c of the 3He nuclei (a kinetic energy of the primary protons in the 3He rest system T/sub p/ = 0.978 GeV). The results on elastic 3Hep scattering are in good agreement with the predictions of the Glauber-Sitenko theory of multiple scattering
