The Bessel uniform approximation and the stationary phase method in inelastic scattering of heavy ions

Description

A semiclassical theory developed for atom-molecule scattering is applied to nuclear inelastic scattering of heavy ions. It differs from the usual semiclassical treatment for inelastic scattering in that the scattering dynamics are classically exact, in particular the recoupling of the target excitation to the projectile orbit
