Description
MCNP Monte Carlo code was used to model nuclear oil well logging tools. A Pulsed neutron source which emits 14 MeV neutrons are used and the emitted gamma rays are detected using two detectors near and far one. The time behavior of gamma rays and neutrons are calculated. The results indicate that oil has two distinguished peaks at 4.4 MeV and 2.3 MeV for C and H respectively which is different from other material such as water. The results are compared with other calculations and show good agreement
