Quark matter in the colour-dielectric model
- 1. Manchester Univ. (UK). Dept. of Theoretical Physics
Description
The properties of cold, two-flavour, quark matter are considered in a simple colour-dielectric model. If the soliton solutions of the same Hamiltonian are identified with nucleons, we find that the one relevant parameter for the quark matter problem is determined uniquely. Results for quark matter are then independent of the mass of the χ field. In addition, this observation leads to useful scaling laws in the soliton sector. (author)
