Separator for hydrogen isotopes
Description
Purpose: To electrolytically concentrate hydrogen isotopes by the use of electric power from a fuel cell using hydrogen and oxygen produced in an electrolytic tank as a power for the electrolysis. Constitution: Raw material water is supplied to an electrolytic tank and hydrogen and oxygen generated through electrolysis are collected in a hydrogen chamber and an oxygen chamber respectively. In the electrolysis, tritium water is concentrated in the electrolytic tank. Hydrogen and oxygen are supplied by way of a hydrogen line and an oxygen line to a cathode and an anode of a fuel cell respectively. Electric power generated from the fuel cell is supplied as the power for the electrolysis in the electrolytic tank. (Seki, T.)
