Description

Background and Purpose: The Laue bent crystal is one of the most effective optical elements for focusing, collimating and monochromating of high flux density high energy X-rays (above 30 keV), because of its excellent performance in reducing the high heat load effectively and reusing of transmission beam directly. The dispersion characteristics is very important for developing high performance and multipurpose Laue bent crystal monochromator. Methods: Self-developed X-ray trace program was employed to study the dispersion characteristics of Laue bent crystal in aspects of diffraction, focus, etc. Results: The distribution of diffraction energy with the beam spot was obtained and the focused beams with different energies created by single Laue bent crystal were got. The general formula of center energy and energy bandwidth of the double beam was also derived. Conclusion: This research provides a basis for the further application of Laue bent crystal. (authors)
