Hot rolling parameters effect on structure and properties of the 79NM alloy
- 1. Moskovskij Inst. Stali i Splavov (USSR)
Description
Material weakening behaviour in the focus of deformation and the effect of strengthening and weakening processes on the structure being formed,on hardness and the level of magnetic properties (initial and maximum magnetic permeabilities) were investigated using a hot rolling test of the magnetically soft 79NM alloy. The effects of strain, strain rate, and strain temperature have been examined. Depending on the combination of these parameters, dynamic weakening during rolling may lay behind the strengthening or override it and develope according to three mechanisms: reduction of the density of dislocations, development of recrystallization in the focus of deformation, and sub-grain coalescence
