Possibilities of implementing radiation protection for personnel when using the operative C-arm in the endoscopic urology room

Description
At the Urology Clinic of the Faculty Hospital of Kralovske Vinohrady, the equipment of the endoscopy room was changed. The original Siemens Access Uroskop device was replaced by a room X-ray type device, i.e. C-arm by Ziehm, model Vision RFD (hereinafter referred to as C-arm). The goal of the work was to propose and evaluate the possibilities of ensuring and increasing the radiation protection of the personnel in the operating room. On the basis of the overall evaluation of the possibilities and the consistent critical evaluation of the subsequent use in real practice, it was found to be key for the radiation protection of workers, i.e. with the greatest efficiency vs. expended resources (time, human and financial), especially the correct execution of the exposure, equipment with personal protective equipment and optimization of workplaces at the operating table.
