Neutron and proton hole states in doubly magic nuclei

Description

The total spectra of the neutron and proton hole states in the doubly magic nuclei 16 O, 40 Ca, 60 Ca, 60 Zr, 80 Zr, 110 Zr, 110 Yb, 140 Yb, 182 Yb, 182 112, 224 112, 280 112, 280 168, 336 168, 408 168, 408 240, and 480 240 are computed. The computations were carried out on the basis of only the central nucleon--nucleon interaction. Use is made of the harmonic-oscillator energy-level occupation scheme and the mathematical tool of the principal approximation of the method of hyperspherical functions
