Description

The conditions of dose distribution in telecentric small-angle pendulous electron irradiation of the thoracic region are reported on the basis of isodose experimentally found using a phantom. Electron energies from 20 to 42 MeV were used, the axial depth amounted to 20 or 30 cm, the pendulous angles to 300, 400, or 600 and the field breadth was 3 or 4 cm. Irradiations were performed monaxially as well as biaxially. The influences of single variables upon the dose distribution and especially on the radiation load to skin, lung and spinal cord are discussed. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Es wird anhand von experimentell am Phantom ermittelten Isodosen ueber die Dosisverteilungsverhaeltnisse bei telezentrischer Elektronen-Kleinwinkelpendelbestrahlung im Thoraxbereich berichtet. Bei Elektronenenergien von 20 bis 42 MeV fanden Achstiefen von 20 und 30 cm, Pendelwinkel 300, 400 und 600 sowie Feldbreiten 3 und 4 cm Verwendung. Die Bestrahlungen erfolgten sowohl mono- als auch biaxial. Die Einfluesse der einzelnen Variablen auf die Dosisverteilung, insbesondere auf die Strahlenbelastung von Haut, Lunge und Rueckenmark, werden diskutiert. (orig.)
