Description
The interaction of fast electrons with metal overlayers on metal substrates is studied within the hydrodynamic model. Retardation effects and damping are included. The energy loss probability of surface and interface plasmons is calculated for external electron beam travelling parallel to the metal surface. Numerical calculations are carried out for potassium layer on aluminium substrate. (author)
