Description
The author argues that a low dose policy is not only a requirement of ICRP 26 but also aids the efficiency of the nuclear establishment. It gives employees (and the general public) confidence in the management's desire to ensure that they will not be put at risk. This confidence is essential for an official industry. The author supports this claim by quoting performance and radiation exposure data at his own nuclear power station (Sizewell) and then outlines how this 'low dose' policy has been achieved by the Central Electricity Generating Board in general and Sizewell in particular.
