Energy dependence of the eikonal in p-p elastic collision
Description
A careful analysis of the elastic p-p scattering in the energy range 20 < approximately root S < approximately 60 GeV is presented. Under the hypothesis of a pure imaginary amplitude with two zeros, the experimental data suggest that the opacity be parametrized opposing to the factorization hypothesis and some earlier results. This conclusion is precisely the one predicted by the two-component model which has been proposed in our previous work

Apresenta-se uma analise cuidadosa do espalhamento elastico p-p no intervalo de energia 20 aproximadamente < que raiz de S aproximadamente < que 60 GeV. Na hipotese de uma amplitude imaginaria pura com dois zeros, os dados experimentais sugerem que a opacidade possa ser parametrizada, contrariamente as hipoteses de fatorizacao e alguns resultados mais recentes.
