New measurement system for U02 pellets metallographic examination based on AxioVision

Description

To improve the efficiency of nuclear fuel UO2 pellets metallographyic examination and enhance the information level, developed a new measurement system for UO2 pellets grain size and porosity distribution examination based on AxioVision Software and Axio Imager. M2m Microscope. Through in-depth analysis of the system requirements, and the optimization of the operation procedure, designed a serial algorithms including smart identification of inspection area, focus correction, and smart count for intercept point. Through the user-friendly designing interface, made it more reliable and easy-to-use. The system improved the efficiency of at least 25% in time, and added functions of sample number import and report export. Compared with the measurement system based on KS400, the result of this system is precise. This measurement system had been developed successfully, and could improve the efficiency and management skills of nuclear fuel UO2 pellets metallographic examination, and could fulfil the checking task for more quantity and type.
