A non-stoichiometric perovskite: BaInO/sub 2.5/

Description
Single crystals of BaInO/sub 2.5/ were prepared by solid state reactions. Out of X-ray diffraction measurements we found a perovskite structure (a = 4.219(2) A space group O/sub h//sup 1/-Pm3m, Z = 1). BaInO/sub 2.5/ is a rare example of a defect perovskite compound with a pure M3+ metal ion and an alkaline earth element. (author)
