Electrodynamics of systems with mass dynamical generation in 2+1-dimensional space-time
Description
Behaviour of three-dimensional fermionic and bosonic models with dynamical mass generation has been studied. The influence of the uniform magnetic field on the dynamical mass is found to be intimately related to chiral properties of the fermionic model. In particular, the magnetic field causes a symmetry breaking in the chiral-invariant version of the Gross-Neveu model, so that the fermion mass depends on the field intensity. It is also shown that in an extended CPN-1 model, an external magnetic field ensures both condensation of the dynamical vector field and electrically neutral bosons vacuum polarization
