A study of a microcalorimeter using dielectric materials

Description
A dielectric microcalorimeter indicates the temperature rise by a change in the electric capacitance for insident radiations. (1-x)SrTiO3-xSrTa2O6 dielectric materials are considered to exhibit suitable properties as the dielectric microcalorimeter. Disk-shaped samples of (1-x)SrTiO3-xSrTa2O6 materials are fabricated to observe the temperature dependence of the electrical capacitance of the sample in the temperature range from 100 mK to l.5 K. The feasibility of the dielectric microcalorimeter is discussed on the basis of observed temperature dependence of the capacitance of the samples. (author)
