Description

Superionic conductors are solids with ionic conductivities that are normally found only in salt melts or concentrated electrolytes. This short introduction deals with the main applications (high-voltage batteries, off-gas sensors, etc.). Apart from this, the example of α-AgI is discussed as a microscopic model describing in particular the frequency dependence of conductivity. (GSC)
