The system of beam formation in 240-cm isochronous cyclotron

Description

Coefficient of beam extraction depends, in the great extent, on the beam emittance. The emittance of the beam after acceleration is much higher than emittance of beam injected to cyclotron. Causes of beam emittance increase are discussed and methods of lowering beam dispersion are proposed. (S.B.)
