Radiolabelled DOTA-TATE: Its evaluation for targeted radiotherapy

Description
Development of radiopharmaceuticals for cancer therapy based on peptide molecules, which may be labelled with beta-gamma emitters, is an outstanding field of research. Among other peptides, (DOTA-D-phe-cys-tyr-D-trp-lys-thr-cys-thr), a somatostatin analogue with high affinity for somatostatin receptors expressed in cancer of neuroendocrine origin, may be labeled both with iodine as well as lanthanide radionuclides. In this study the labeling of DOTA-TATE with 125I and its biological properties were investigated, with the aim of its potential application as tumour-seeking agent
