Description
The results of measurements of cross section, α particle energy spectra and angular distribution for the 58 Ni (n,α) 55 Fe reaction at incident neutron energy of 5.1 MeV using a gridded ionization chamber are discussed. Neutron flux is determined using the 238 U fission chamber. The value of cross section obtained amounts to 47.4±5.0 m b. The comparison of the experimental data obtained with the theoretical ones shows that the angular distribution for the reaction considered can be described by the model of compound nucleus. 5 refs., 4 figs
