Vertical migration of HTO and 137Cs in the soil
- 1. Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe G.m.b.H. (Germany, F.R.). Hauptabteilung Sicherheit
Description
From depth profiles of the HTO and 137Cs concentrations in the soil the vertical migration rate was determined for these two radionuclides. For HTO the values assessed ranged from 2 to 5 m/a, for 137Cs they were between 0.4 and 1.6 cm/a. The values found on the site of the Karlsruhe Nuclear Research Center are so low in absolute terms that they are insignificant from the radiation protection point of view. (orig.)
