Description
Elastic magnetic M1 electron scattering form factor has been calculated for the ground state Jπ, T = 1/2-, 1/2 of 13C using the Cohen-Kurath interaction. The results of a shell-model calculation which uses the lp-shell and (1p + 2p)-shell model spaces are compared with the available experimental data. Effective one-body transitions are used to reproduce the measured magnetic moment. Meson exchange currents are included which show same q-dependence as the one-body terms with minor contribution. The data are reasonably explained up to q ∼ 3.5 fm-1 when the size parameter of the harmonic oscillator potential is reduced from that used to fit the root mean square charge radius. (author)
