Generation of fast electrons in a laser plasma
Description
The results of numerical investigation of the absorption factor and the number of fast electrons dependence on flux density of intense electromagnetic radiation falling on a plasma are presented in the paper. It is detected that, in case of plasma supersonic hydrodynamic flow with a sharp velocity gradient about critical density at flux density of Nd-laser q > approximately 1015 W/cm2 a great number of fast electrons is generated due to the Cherenkov interaction of particles with short-wave potential oscillations excited in plasma as a result of nonresonance kinetic parametric instability development
