Dark matter in our Galaxy. II. A massive halo

Description

Methods for determining the percentage of dark matter in the Galaxy are described. The measuring of the speed of hydrogen gas in clouds using the Doppler effect is discussed. Consideration is given to the examination of the envelope of dark matter around the Galaxy from observations of high-velocity stars and the measurement of groups of stars that orbit the Galaxy at very large distances in order to estimate the percentage of dark matter in the Galaxy
