Evaluation of the savings of water and cadmium-water reflectors for homogeneous uranium-water systems

Description
The savings (Δ) of water and cadmium-water reflectors for a spherical reactor have been evaluated. The core represents a homogeneous highly enriched uranium-water mixture, rhosub(H)/rhosub(5) varying in a wide range from o to 1500. The calculations have been conducted in the multigroup S8-approximation. Thus calculated dependences Δ = f(rhosub(H)/rhosub(5)) are in a good agreement with available experimental data
