NMR investigation of solutions of uranyl and neptunyl perbromates

Description

1H, 17O, 79Br NMR spectra of uranyl and neptunyl perbromates in aqueous-organic solutions have been studied, and compared with the results obtained for perchlorates. The actinyl complexes are shown to be isostructural to the XO4- anions (X=Cl, Br), perbromate, as a ligand to actinyls, having somewhat higher basicity. A difference in the substitution character of perbromate-ions, as compared with perchlorate-ions, with an increase in the water concentration in an aqueous-organic solution is pointed out. The structure of coordination compounds being formed in uranyl and neptunyl perhalate solutions at low water quantities is discussed
