Policy, infrastructure and training in radiation protection for the health services of developing countries

The strengthening of collaboration between the International Atomic Energy Agency, the World Health Organization and other international agencies will be beneficial and cost effective in assisting developing countries to strengthen their management of radiation protection services. This can be achieved by utilizing the expert personnel and facilities of the World Health Organization's Regional Training Centres and the network of Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratories and by exploiting the benefits of health care technology and thus contributing to the improvement of health care and safety.
