LRE2EV - Benchmark report. LRE2EV (Local Renewable Energies to Electric Vehicle) prospective report: Prospective analysis of the added value of a coupling between renewable energies and the vehicle charging within the framework of action 6 of the axis 2 - Deployment of renewable energies and of electric mobility: decentralised dynamics in the search for territorial consistency

A first report proposes a comparative analysis of European experiments in the field of coupling renewable energies to electric vehicle charging. It gathers research and demonstration projects registered in the JRC outlook smart grid database (version 2017), and other projects which have also been identified and complied with the study criteria. The objective was to identify key criteria for the coupling of renewable energies and electric vehicles, and reproducible good practices which would favour the deployment of electric mobility in the South region (of France) while increasing the renewable energy share in the electricity mix. It more particularly focuses on the conditions under which coupling would be relevant, and on the opportunities of such a coupling in the considered region. A second report is based on the same analysis of European and regional projects, on visits and interviews of regional actors, of users of an electric vehicle, and on a survey. It first proposes answers to questions related to the relevancy of the coupling between renewable energies and electric vehicles, to some characteristics of this coupling. In a second part, it proposes a prospective analysis, with partnerships notably between the Region and Education and Research centers
