Experimental results from Saclay on charge elastic electron scattering at high momentum transfers

Description
The present status of (e, e) charge scattering experiments at high momentum transfer performed at Saclay is reviewed. The reliability of the error estimate on rho(r) as a function of momentum transfer is investigated with the new available data. A detailed analysis of the experimental and theoretical limitations shows to what extent high momentum data are required in order to compare with the present theoretical calculations. Finally, a comparison is made for 40Ca, 58Ni, 116124Sn, 208Pb with self-consistent field calculations. (Auth.)
