Description
In order to realize a neutron rich isotopes source, a fissioning 238 U target is bombarded with fast neutrons obtained by deuteron break-up in a dedicated converter. The largest number of neutron induced fission events able to produce neutron rich isotopes is estimated in a 238 U target as a function of the deuteron energy. (authors)
