Uranium distribution in some minerals of fergusonite-bearing carbonatites

  • 1. Moskovskij Geologorazvedochnyj Inst. (USSR)

Description

F-radiography method was used to study uranium distribution peculiarities in minerals of fergusonite-bearing carbonatites. Uranium absence in calcite and predominant uranium accumulation in the form of uniform isomorphic impurity in early apatite are shown as well as in accessor minerals: hattchettolite, cerofergusonite, zircon, sphene. Constant presence of fine film unclusions and growth of uranium-bearing niobates in cracks in large pyroxene and magnetite crystals has been established. Uranium redistribution in the course of rock formation, its evacuation from primary apatite and accumulation in external parts of cerofergusonite crystals has been established as well
