Determination of α-emitters in heat-exchanger water of atomic energy stations using membranes impregnated with hydrous Mn dioxide

An increase of the specific activity of the α-emitters U, Np, Pu, Am, Cm in heat-exchanger water is one of the criteria used to confirm breaching of fuel-element cladding at atomic energy stations. In the present communication, the development of a rapid method for determining actinides using porous reactive membranes impregnated with hydrous oxides of Mn, Sb, and Zr is reported
