Irradiated Foods Detection by Thermoluminescence (TL) and DEFT/APC Analysis

Description
Irradiated food detection methods such as Thermoluminescence (TL) and Direct Epifluorescent Filter Technique and Aerobic Plate Count (DEFT/APC) methods were evaluated. Fresh green-onion, onion, and ginger were irradiated at 0, 0.3, 0.6, and 0.9 kGy. Difference in log DEFT/APC units between irradiated and un-irradiated samples was less than 2 long units, below the average threshold value (3-4 long units) of international researches
